Fukuoka Prefecture Textile Facade (Night Photography)

Number:

00002095

Overview/Request

We received a request to construct a textile facade that embodies "Okawa Kumiko," a traditional craft from Okawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture.

Points

In response to the client’s wishes, we combined white membrane material with a lattice-like steel frame to represent “Okawa Kumiko.”
The lighting installed at the back of the building creates a mystical glow at night, resembling a kumiko lantern.
Additionally, a special titanium dioxide coating was applied to the surface, providing anti-stain functionality.

A Word from the Sales Representative

This project marks the first implementation of a textile facade in Kyushu, a rare achievement even within the country.
The textile facade, leveraging the flexibility of membrane materials, introduces a design that completely redefines the concept of traditional exterior walls.
In addition to its aesthetic appeal, the facade also offers functional benefits, including energy- saving effects and ease of renovation. This innovative design has attracted significant attention both domestically and internationally in recent years.
