Compared to traditional heavy and rigid ceiling materials, membrane ceilings significantly reduce the risk of falling during earthquakes or as a result of aging. In addition to their safety benefits, membrane materials offer a soft, elegant appearance. They also feature excellent light transmission and sound absorption properties, contributing to a comfortable interior environment.
Ultra-lightweight ceiling material
Superior sound absorption
Brightness through translucency
Membrane ceilings weigh approximately 600 g/m², making them significantly lighter than conventional ceiling materials like plasterboard (approx. 8 kg/m²). Their soft yet durable nature minimizes potential harm to people or objects in the event of a fall during an earthquake.
Unlike plasterboard or gypsum board, membrane ceilings do not absorb moisture. As a result, they are less prone to deterioration and remain safe and durable even in hot, humid environments like indoor swimming pools.
Membrane ceilings support creative, curved surface designs that give a light and airy impression. Their translucency also enables indirect lighting applications, allowing for flexible spatial design that is difficult to achieve with conventional ceiling materials.
